Our Story, Our Mission

About Space Aviation Ltd

10+ years of defining excellence in integrated aviation solutions across Africa and the world.

Our Story

Founded in 2015 at Wilson Airport in Nairobi, Kenya, Space Aviation Ltd began as a boutique charter operator with a single aircraft and an outsized vision: to build Africa's most trusted integrated aviation services company. In those early years, our founders — a group of passionate aviators and business professionals — recognised a profound gap in the market for reliable, safety-focused, and truly personalised aviation services across the continent.

Over the following 10+ years, we grew steadily and deliberately — never sacrificing quality for speed. Each new service division was launched only when we had the right people, the right aircraft, and the right systems in place. Our cargo division launched in 2023 following years of careful planning. Our flight academy received KCAA accreditation in 2022 after investing heavily in simulators, instructors, and curriculum development. Our MRO facility earned its Part 145 approval only after meeting the most stringent standards of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority.

Today, Space Aviation Ltd operates a fleet of 30+ aircraft, employs over 300 aviation professionals, and serves clients across six continents. We have flown heads of state, facilitated life-saving medical evacuations, delivered critical humanitarian cargo, and trained over 1,200 pilots who now fly for airlines and operators around the world. Our journey is far from over — we are as ambitious today as we were on day one.

"We built Space Aviation not just to be a business, but to be a legacy — one that elevates aviation standards across Africa for generations to come."

— Founder & Chairman, Space Aviation Ltd

Our Mission

To deliver safe, efficient, and premium aviation solutions that empower our clients to reach their destinations and achieve their goals without compromise — every flight, every shipment, every mission.

Our Vision

To be Africa's most trusted and admired integrated aviation group — setting the global standard for safety, luxury, reliability, and innovation in every service we provide.

Our Core Values

Six principles that guide every decision, every flight, and every interaction at Space Aviation Ltd.

Safety First

Safety is not a department — it is a culture. Every team member, from the CEO to the line technician, is empowered and obligated to prioritise safety above all else. Our Safety Management System (SMS) is embedded in every operational process.

Excellence in Service

We do not settle for good enough. From the cleanliness of our aircraft cabins to the responsiveness of our customer support team, we pursue excellence in every detail. Our 98% client satisfaction rating reflects this commitment.

Integrity & Transparency

We operate with complete honesty and transparency in all our dealings. Our pricing is clear, our contracts are fair, and our communication is always straightforward. Trust is the foundation of every long-term partnership we build.

Customer Focus

Our clients are at the centre of everything we do. We listen carefully, respond quickly, and tailor our services to meet each client's unique needs. Our dedicated relationship managers ensure that every client feels valued and understood.

Innovation

We embrace technology and new ideas to continuously improve our services. From real-time cargo tracking to advanced flight simulators and digital booking systems, we invest in innovation to stay ahead of the curve.

Sustainability

We recognise our responsibility to the planet. Through fleet modernisation, SAF partnerships, carbon offset programmes, and community investment, we are working to make aviation more sustainable for future generations.

Safety First, Always

Safety is the non-negotiable foundation of every operation at Space Aviation Ltd. Our record speaks for itself.

At Space Aviation Ltd, safety is not merely a regulatory obligation — it is a deeply held organisational value that permeates every level of our operations. Our Safety Management System (SMS), aligned with ICAO Annex 19 standards, provides a structured framework for identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing mitigating measures before they can affect our operations.

We conduct regular internal audits, participate in IATA's IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) programme, and welcome third-party safety assessments from our clients and regulatory authorities. Our pilots undergo recurrent training every six months in full-motion flight simulators, and our maintenance engineers complete annual competency assessments to ensure their skills remain current.

Our safety culture is built on the principle that every team member has both the right and the responsibility to raise safety concerns without fear of reprisal. This open reporting culture has been instrumental in our unblemished safety record since establishment.

Environmental Sustainability

Space Aviation Ltd is committed to reducing our environmental footprint through a multi-pronged sustainability strategy. Our fleet modernisation programme has already reduced our average fuel burn per flight hour by 18% compared to our 2015 baseline. We have partnered with two sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) producers to blend SAF into our fuel supply at Wilson Airport, and we are actively working towards a 30% SAF usage target by 2030.

Beyond fuel, we have implemented paperless operations across our charter, cargo, and maintenance divisions, eliminating over 2 million sheets of paper annually. Our ground support equipment fleet is transitioning to electric vehicles, and our hangar facilities are powered in part by rooftop solar panels installed in 2023.

Community Investment

We invest in the communities where we operate through our Space Aviation Foundation, which provides aviation scholarships to talented young Kenyans from disadvantaged backgrounds, funds STEM education programmes in secondary schools, and supports community health initiatives in partnership with local NGOs.

Since 2021, the Foundation has awarded 85 aviation scholarships, enabling recipients to pursue careers as pilots, engineers, and air traffic controllers. We are proud that many of our scholarship alumni now work for Space Aviation and other leading aviation organisations across Africa.

Our 2030 Sustainability Commitments

  • 30% Sustainable Aviation Fuel usage across all operations
  • 100% electric ground support equipment fleet
  • Carbon-neutral ground operations at Wilson Airport
